The car, currently available only in the petrol version, is priced in the range of Rs2.69 to Rs3.71 lakhs. Spiraling costs of petrol has prompted the Korean car maker to introduce an LPG version of the EON which is expected to be launched in India in mid 2012. The LPG variant is currently undergoing tests at the plant of the company near Chennai.
EON is proving to be tough competition for the Maruti Alto and also the cheapest car in the world, Tata Nano.
EON is powered by an 814 cc engine, delivering maximum power of 56 bhp at 5,500 rpm, which is quite impressive for a small car. The unique digital gear shift indicator helps the car to achieve maximum optimum gear usage and the best fuel efficiency. The car, giving out an amazing mileage of 21.1 kmpl, is currently available in 6 variants.
